Explore Academy is committed to offering an educational platform which integrates technology in a manner consistent with 21st century learning. To this end, the school is requiring that each student possess a tablet as a requirement for enrollment.
While not a virtual school, Explore Academy will operate a digital learning environment where information is accessed and exchanged online.
Through our online platform, students will access information and will submit work online.
While teachers will utilize different online resources (websites, apps, etc.), the school will use Google Apps for Education as its main platform for information exchange. This includes Google Classroom, which teachers will use to communicate with students.
As part of their registration, students will be provided with an Explore Academy email address (<name>@exploreacademy.org) which they may access anywhere online. Students will also have access to their own cloud-storage area, the Google Drive. Through Google, Explore Academy will provide each student with unlimited cloud-based storage for all their files.
Students are required to provide their own technology to use in their classes at Explore Academy. With the Google-based system in place at Explore Academy, the school requires Google Chromebooks for its students, both for cost and ease of use with our system. The Chromebook should be the only school supply students will need throughout their time at Explore Academy
